Esther weighing in at 3kg
It was a crazy few days that brought this little one out into the world!
Franzie's waters broke around 2am on Friday morning, and we ended up at Katoomba hospital, but with no contractions till 3pm! Esther Evelyn Nelson was born at 4:39pm... so very quick labour.
Everything was great until Franzie's placenta didn't want to budge, but all's well now... the photo below shows how happy Franzie was 30secs after deliver :-)
Miriam's very excited to have a little sister, but her whole world has changed too, so we want to make sure we help her through this transition too!

Just a quick pici of the storm gathering at the wedding on the weekend.
Knocking down walls!
Well, it's been a crazily-busy holiday - the latest task being renovation in the kitchen/living room! Here's some photo's for Doro to see the changes that we've made :-)
This first one shows what's left of the wall after Franzie and I pulled down the horse-hair plasterboard.
Stage 1 looking from the other end of the livingroom.
Most of the studs have been removed, with a special prop to support the weight before the beam is inserted.
Here you can see the boys (Andrew and Pete Kube) at work after putting the beam in place.
After oiling the floor, we couldn't move back in for 3 days! (You can see Claudia, Franzie's friend from Germany coming through the door :-) )
After moving back in to the kitchen. This photo shows the whole opening through to the living room, as well as the new door down to the hallway (which we obtained from Elaine and John across the road!). You can also see where the fridge is now on the very right-hand edge of the picture.
